This page explains which cookies Blue Leaf Journal uses, why, and how to control them. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers your data rights in full.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember something between visits or between pages — that a page has already been cached, or that you’ve been counted once in a day’s traffic. Some come from this site directly (“first-party”). Some come from a service we use, like Google (“third-party”).
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary. These keep the site working and secure. They can’t be switched off without breaking basic functionality, and we don’t use them to track you across other sites.
- WordPress core cookies — session handling, security, and remembering your details if you comment on an article.
- Caching cookies set by our performance system (LiteSpeed Cache), so pages load faster.
Analytics.
- Google Analytics, run through Google’s Site Kit plugin. This tells us, in aggregate, which articles are read and roughly how visitors find the site. IP addresses are truncated before we see them, and nothing in this data identifies you personally.
What we don’t use. Blue Leaf Journal carries no advertising and runs no advertising or retargeting pixels — no Meta/Facebook pixel, no ad-network tracking. We publish organically to Pinterest; Pinterest does not track your activity on this site through that relationship, only your activity on Pinterest itself.
Third-party and embedded content. If an article embeds a video, or a link takes you to checkout or sign-up through Systeme.io (our course and email platform), that provider may set its own cookies once you land on their page. Those are governed by that provider’s own policy, not this one.
How to control cookies
Your browser lets you block or delete cookies at any time, usually under its Privacy or Security settings. Blocking analytics cookies does not change what you can read on Blue Leaf Journal. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We don’t currently run a cookie-consent banner. This page, together with the Privacy Policy, is how we disclose what’s in use. If that changes, on-page consent controls will appear here.
